The Business Development Manager acts as a business partner for accounts and manages the sales process, working closely with the Senior Business Development Director, Partners and Subject Matter Experts. The BDM is responsible for developing and expanding new business opportunities, as well as ensuring client satisfaction, within established accounts and prospective clients. 

Tasks will vary and may include:

  • Actively prospects and leverages potential new business opportunities,
  • In collaboration with the BDD and TATs, the BDM analyses potential opportunities and develops detailed business plans and sales strategies for each client account. Monitors actions and results against plans,
  • Identifies and responds to client needs in order to define potential opportunities. Ensures appropriate strategy/solution is proposed to client,
  • Works with TATs and SMEs to identify sales team and prepare presentations. Educates team participants in client culture, operational needs/methods and sales techniques needed to close the sale,
  • In collaboration with the SBDD, leads the entire sales process; preparing and leading the sales presentation,
  • Handles follow-up related to the sale and drives completion of contractual documents,
  • Will be expected to meet personal business generation goals within assigned accounts,
  • Keeps abreast of industry newsflow and latest trends,
  • Business Development related activities as required.
  • 3+ years in a sales/consulting environment preferably within life science or service industries.
  • Undergraduate degree in a life sciences subject.
  • Ability to develop relationships with a culturally diverse group of key stakeholders within tranScrip and the client's business,
  • Ability to multi-task, work to tight timelines and manage workload effectively, with minimal supervision,
  • Demonstrated success preparing and executing client presentations,
  • Ability to successfully leverage internal resources across organizational boundaries to meet client needs,
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug development process.
